In a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) of an electronic product, several parts have impact to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). If any of these parts needs to be replaced, there is risk that the EMC performance of the electronic product will be impacted due to the part replacement. To ensure continued EMC compliance with the replacement electronic part, manufacturers need to perform standard EMC testing. To minimize the need for more standard EMC testing in the EMC laboratory, there needs to be a reliable prequalification testing activity. The proposed research aims to achieve this purpose. A reliable bench testing setup with a new semi-circular fixture was developed to prequalify replacement parts. The new bench testing setup would help lessen the needed standard EMC testing. © 2023 IEEE.
