This research aims to evaluate the application of green façades in residential buildings as perceived by the real estate industry. The goal is to assess the impact of the architectural configuration on the adaptability residents’ perception of the green facade residential buildings utilizing advanced clustering techniques using fuzzy K-Means and Hierarchical Clustering methods. The research further examines the suitability of various types of residential buildings the application of green façades to 187 respondents. A high variance of 79. 37% between clusters on AHC. 37% indicated a strong separation between clusters, confirmed by silhouette analysis. Clusters’ cohesion and clear-cut features. It reflected less distinct boundaries. The three-cluster model shows interpretability and cluster compactness on Fuzzy K-Means. The results illustrate notable preference groups and highlight low- and mid-rise one- to two-story buildings as the best candidates for green façades. The validation of these clustering techniques underscores their utility in supporting sustainable urban design. The results are of great value for designers and environmental planners in creating energy-efficient residential zones and ecological residential areas. Integrating environmental simulations and extending the data will enable for more precise design suggestions. © 2025 IEEE.
